The Kartell Tissue Grinding Vessel is a borosilicate glass mortar designed for the homogenisation and preparation of small amounts of tissue and other laboratory samples. The vessel is used together with a compatible PTFE pestle, which is available separately. The PTFE pestle provides a controlled clearance of 0.15–0.25 mm with the borosilicate glass mortar for effective sample processing. The stated capacities are working volumes with the pestle in position, and the range is available in 2 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml, 30 ml and 50 ml sizes. Care should be taken to avoid excessive heat generation during homogenisation.
